Biographical information:

 

Born:  Brooklyn, New York  Winter 1942

Lived in Brooklyn the first 24 years of my life..

 

American and Canadian citizen

 

Studying sketching, drawing, painting, fabric design, as a teenager at

The Brooklyn Museum, F.I.T., and The Art Students League…

self taught since old enough to hold a crayon.

Married Thom Henrickson and moved to San Francisco in 1965 

worked at odd jobs to support my painting..

Moved to Toronto, Ontario in the spring of 1968..

Turned a loft into a live in studio art gallery. Picked up a camera. 

The camera has been my extension of seeing and creativity since that time.

Thomas and I worked on several photo projects together from 1968 to 1985..

Including two artists made books.

We have two grown children who work in photography and film.

 

I began working on my own images with my first Plant Shadow project,

and several images while traveling across Canada and The United States by car. 

I continue to photograph through windows, some still some from cars, airplanes,

trains and ferries.

My work has been exhibited at The Jane Corkin Gallery in  Toronto from 1988 to 2008.

 

We are now living near Georgian Bay most of the time, and in Toronto some of the time.

I continue to print my own archival black and white photographs, and color photographs,

including new digital works.

 

I have several chapbooks of my poetry..

 

Have been at The Banff Centre for the Arts on two occasions, working on my photographs, and building a CD. And website for students to contribute.
